Shrinath & Associates is the law practice of Shrinath Kulkarni, an advocate enrolled with the Karnataka State Bar Council since November 2011. The firm handles criminal, constitutional, election, intellectual property and commercial matters, from the first consultation through to final hearing.

Before setting up independent practice, Mr. Kulkarni spent six years as Associate Legal Counsel at Diwakara & Associates, working with Senior Advocates before the High Court of Karnataka, the Bombay High Court and the Supreme Court of India.

Every matter is handled personally by the advocate in charge, with clear advice on options, timelines and likely outcomes before anything is filed.

Insights

Know the law

Short notes on questions clients often ask. General information only, not legal advice.

Criminal law

What is anticipatory bail?

Under Section 482 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, a person who fears arrest for a non-bailable offence can apply to the Sessions Court or High Court for a direction that they be released on bail if arrested.

Trademarks

Why search before you file a trademark

A search of the Trade Marks Registry before filing shows whether a similar mark already exists in your class, which reduces the risk of objections, oppositions and a forced rebrand later.

POSH Act

Does your workplace need an Internal Committee?

Every employer with ten or more employees must constitute an Internal Committee under the POSH Act, 2013, to receive and inquire into complaints of sexual harassment at the workplace.
